Episode 122: Interdicting Dandelions With Dennis

you probably remember what
the handsome devil looks like)
Look what happens when we leave the broadcast foxhole unguarded and the door unlocked (yes, our foxhole has a door). We get drop-ins! From far off California we welcome Dennis Donovan live in the studio joining us in some grand conversation about the greatest game in the world, Advanced Squad Leader (duh). Together we cooked up a heaping-helping of banter and serve up such topics as model building, syncopes (such as fo'c's'le, the syncope of forecastle), scenarios we've been playing lately, horticulture and, best of all, Interdiction. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad mix of multi-man madcapery (that word isn't in the dictionary YET).

Loved the foxhole discussion. I have dug a ton of these in my current Pegasus Bridge CG game and have found them to be extremely valuable.

Hahahahahha ... thanks for playing the Chinese National anthem guys.

BTW .. the name of the tourney came from the Gin Drinkers' Line which was the line of fortifications in Hong Kong that only managed to hold the IJA back for a couple of days back in December 1941.

Thanks again for letting people know about our tourney.

Take care!!

Warm regards,
Jack

You mentioned that Dennis gave you a set of counters ... of yourself.
Can you post picture of those please? :D

A good discussion about Interdiction. Jeff's presentation is both entertaining and informative.

A Gun that needs to change its CA cannot Interdict (+? DRM). Thus the routing side cannot use Interdiction to force a Gun to change CA. He can cause loss of Targeting Acquisition though.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the clarification, Jack. Whatever the source, we like the name!

Quite right, Erwin, Jeff knew that but failed to make that distinction during the discussion. Thanks for nudge.

If you want to know how to pronounce "Maleme", watch THE EAGLE HAS LANDED. Robert Duvall says it when he is reviewing Oberst Steiner's service file.
